The History of Our Premier Downtown Atlanta Hotel
Originally built to serve as office space in 1923, the Glenn Building was named after John T. Glenn, Atlanta's mayor at the time. Designed by the Washington DC architect, Wadley B. Wood, this building at the intersection of Marietta and Spring streets was part of the original center of old Atlanta. The building fell into disrepair over the years. In 1975, the Atlanta Urban Design Commission identified this building as one of the significant historical and architectural sites in Atlanta.
In early 2000s, a real estate development firm acquired the building. This building was converted into Glenn hotel, a boutique Atlanta hotel in the Luckie Marietta district. In preserving the integrity of the structure, its beauty, balance and historical relevance remained. Now recognized on the National Historic Register, our downtown Atlanta hotel blends the past with the present to create a warm and sophisticated atmosphere.
